Report Domain Abuse

We are committed to ensuring that domain names registered through us are not exploited for unlawful or harmful purposes. If you suspect that a domain registered with us is being misused, we encourage you to report it to us as soon as possible. Defining Domain Abuse Abuse of a domain name can take a variety of forms. This includes, without limitation:

  • Phishing attempts, or impersonation of a legitimate organisation or website
  • The spread of malware, ransomware, or other malicious software
  • Fraudulent activity, scams, or other misleading conduct
  • Unsolicited spam or mass messaging
  • Breaches of intellectual property rights
  • Any other activity that contravenes UK law or Nominet’s policies

Submitting a Report If you wish to report suspected abuse, please email the address listed on our Contact page. To assist our investigation, we would ask that you provide, where possible:

  • The domain name in question
  • A straightforward account of the issue you have observed
  • Supporting evidence — for instance, relevant URLs, screenshots, or email headers
  • A means of contacting you, in the event we need further information

Our Response Every report we receive is examined without delay and dealt with in accordance with UK law and Nominet’s requirements. You can expect an acknowledgement of your report promptly, typically within one working day. If our investigation confirms that abuse has taken place, we will take appropriate steps in response — this may include contacting the domain’s registrant, suspending the domain, or escalating the matter to relevant authorities. Please note that legal or confidentiality considerations may limit what we are able to disclose to you regarding the specific action taken
